EK THI DAAYAN

The film in question is the much talked about Ek Thi Daayan, that's being directed by Kanan Iyer. Emraan took his 'debut shot' as a director while shooting Kanan's cameo for the film. Ironically, Ek Thi Daayanwill mark Kanan's debut as a director as well as an actor. Kanan said that since he decided to do a small role in the film just for fun, he wanted someone else to direct him. And since Emraan was around, he immediately stepped up and was game to do the needful. Even though the two shot for over an hour, the final scene will ultimately be less than a minute in the film! Kanan, who plays a scientist giving a lecture to school students, said that he is aware of the fact that he is not an actor and that's why he needed an outsider to tell him if his shot worked or needed more work. And it is where Emraan stepped in and guided him through the scene and made sure that he looked like a scientist. The duo, later worked on the look, dialogues and reactions.

Kanan, who was all praise for his leading man Emraan Hashmi, said that Emraan is an involved actor, who gets into the skin of the character and constantly talks about his interpretation of how a character behaves in a certain scene. The cast and the crew members of Ekta Kapoor's upcoming film Ek Thi Daayan were almost shaken and got stuck in a panic situation after a leopard strayed onto the sets of the movie in Film City.

News reports have it that the director Kannan Iyer had a close call and was a few minutes away when the leopard was discovered while the lead actors of the film - Konkona Sen Sharma, Kalki Koechlin and Emraan Hashmi - were not shooting on the day. It was only the unit members who had just come on the sets for the prep work when they spotted the leopard. After spotting the animal, they quickly ran outside and called the forest officials to nab the leopard.

On a lighter note, Emraan Hashmi joked that 'he (the leopard) had probably dropped by to meet the daayan'.It seems like Emraan Hashmi, is all set to prove wrong the saying 'Uneasy lies the head that wears many hats', in his own way. Well, after having secured his place under the sun as an actor, he is now all set to add yet another feather in his cap. This time round, by turning a director!
