JODI BREAKERS - DIALOUGE TRAILER

Teri Zaroorat sounds far intense than the light hearted tonality Jodi Breakers’ promos have been projecting so far. A high pitched, love ballad with some soulful singing by Salim Merchant and Shraddha Pandit , the song is quite a melodious listen. And since it is high-pitched, how can Rahat Fateh Ali Khan be left behind? A fast paced remix that sounds straight out of Himesh Reshammiya’s school of has sound; has Rahat doing his standard routine. But all of it comes together nicely, and the song works well while it lasts.

The freshness Salim’s voice brought in the opening track, slowly becomes monotonous by the time his third song arrives. Giving him company in Jab Mein Tumhare Saath, are Benny Dayal and Shilpa Rao. But even though this trio makes all attempts to sound romantic, the tune fails to register. The song suffers from a Pritam hangover, thanks to the English chorus that keeps cropping up every few lines.
Salim-Sulaman fail to give the Jodi Breakers an original sound. And the end result is a mish-mash of Pritam, Vishal-Shekhar and Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy’s styles. Maybe they too did not expect the film to create a buzz.
Jodi Breakers is an average, predictable album that will rely heavily on the promos of the film, for the songs to pick up. R Madhavan's last Hindi release Tanu Weds Manu had a chartbusting score. Unfortunately this one is not in the same league.
