Zanjeer is an upcoming Indian action film directed and produced by Apoorva Lakhiasi multaneously shot into Hindi and Telugu.It is a remake of the Hindi 1973 film of the same name and will be directed by Apoorva Lakhia. Ram Charan Tej as Vijay Shrivastav, Police inspector.
Zanjeer originally which was released during the 1973 with Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan in the lead is now being remade with Ram Charan Teja and directed by Apporva Lakhia. This movie which was rumoured to be a false news has now started rolling and the actor himself in a micro-blogging site confirmed this news saying that "First day shoot of zanjeer wit my director apoorva".The rest of the cast and crew other than Ram Charan Tej are not announced yet, but will be done soon. Director Apoorva Lakhia has signed up Telugu actor Chiranjeevi's son Ram Charan and Priyanka Chopra for the lead roles.Prakash Raj has been roped in to play the character of Teja. There were reports that Sonu Sood and Arjun Rampal were being considered for the role of Sher Khan.
