Director Jha says “Abhay loved the song but he expressed reservations about it. He’s not comfortable with dancing. It’s a song is from their college days when they meet after seven years and is very rowdy, bindass kind of song where they think of some imaginary Paro and sing to her. Abhay wanted to practice for 10 days so he could be confident about it. With Arjun, it was easy as he just rehearsed for two days and did it." It is a known fact that right from the days of APAHARAN, director Prakash Jha and his steady writing partner Anjum Rajabali have collaborated on making one issue based film after another. RAAJNEETI and AARAKSHAN are two such films that have already released and now when the two are coming together again, expectations are that of an explosive volatile dramatic tale in the offering. Is that something which audiences get to see in CHAKRAVYUH as well?
"Of course we have done our research and added dramatics to the basic plot while bringing in the kind of structure which is cinema friendly. The D-Day is pretty much round the corner so why not check it out your self," smiles Jha.It was the same process that Jha had propagated in RAAJNEETI and AARAKSHAN as well which were about politics and reservation respectively. While former was a massive success, latter wasn't. Though Jha and Rajabali had tried to tell the tale in an entertaining manner, somehow the end result didn't quite meet all around expectations of audience.
In the hindsight, what does Prakash Jha feel was the reason behind that?"See, you can't deny the fact that reservation is still going on, be in education or promotions. Every political party has its own politics to deal with. No one is worried about a larger population", says Jha, "Since the subject stays on top be so topical, I believe AARAKSHAN did solve its purpose and created debate around an issue that people had stopped talking about.
