Rumours have been rife about the eminently in-demand Sonakshi Sinha doing this and that new offer. But Sonkashi has been turning down assignments with dogged regularity. In the last six months Sonakshi has signed only one film, and that's Ashwni Dhir's comic adventure film Son Of Sardar where Sonakshi is obviously not playing the title role.

Says a source close to Sonakshi, "Nor did she play the title role in Dabangg or Joker. Salman and Akshay Kumar play the title role. But Sonakshi made her space. She loves her role opposite Ajay Devgn in Son Of Sardar. And is in fact the only actress of her generation who is not intimidated by senior superstars...Salman, Akshay Kumar and now Ajay Devgn."

However it's not as though Sonakshi is averse to working with younger co-stars. A film with Ranveer Singh is on the anvil. At the moment Sonakshi is only confirming her presence in Son Of Sardar, "At last some news that is true", Sonakshi chuckles, referring cleverly to various rumours about her, including the latest that claims she refuses to work with Shahid Kapoor. As a matter of fact she is looking forward to working with him.

Says Sonakshi, "For now I can only say I'm looking forward to Son Of Sardar. It's the kind of role I was looking forward to for a while. I am doing this film because it's a wonderful script, extremely funny."The festival of Diwali is always a big ticket window for our B-town folks. This year too, two biggies, namely Yash Chopra's SRK- Katrina- Anushka starrer and Son Of Sardaar starring Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha and Juhi Chawla, are slated to clash at the B.O.

However, as the release date of November 13 fast approaches, there have been some murmurs doing the rounds that this clash may not take place. However those are just rumours. Son of Sardaar is definitely releasing on November 13 and so is Yash Chopra's Jab Tak Hai Jaan film.

While YRF's film is still being shot, post-production work on Son Of Sardaar is already on in full swing in anticipation of a bumper Diwali day release. A reliable source confirms to us that Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt are currently dubbing for the film in Hyderabad and the entire creative and marketing teams are brainstorming on putting in place an innovative publicity blitzkrieg.

The production houses backing Son Of Sardaar namely Devgn Films, Viacom 18 Motion Pictures and YRV Infra & Media have in fact paved the way for an all out release and have licensed the worldwide distribution rights to Eros International. The banners have kick-started their campaign in full swing to release the film with tremendous fanfare and go wide encouraged by positive reports from all their centers.Well, this certainly puts a rest to all rumors circulating around the film for its release.A recent media report had stated that Son of Sardaar's director Ashwni Dhir had first approached Kajol for the lead role opposite Ajay Devgn in the movie.

The report even went on to say that Kajol declined the movie due to her household commitments and suggested Sonakshi's name instead. However, there is not an iota of truth in this news, says the film's spokesperson.Sonakshi was always the original and only choice of the director for the part opposite Ajay Devgn. The team always had Sonakshi in mind for this role. She was the first heroine who was approached and she gave a nod to the film immediately. News about any other actress being approached for the role is absolutely untrue.

Son of Sardaar directed by Ashwni Dhir and Ajay Devgn, Sonakshi Sinha, Sanjay Dutt and Juhi Chawla is presented by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures & Eros International and produced by Ajay Devgn Ffilms and YRV Media Pvt Ltd. The movie is slated for a Diwali release on November 13 this year. The Ajay Devgn, Sonakshi Sinha and Sanjay Dutt starrer Son Of Sardaar which releases this Diwali has run into legal trouble. Apparently, a Chandigarh-based lawyer served a legal notice to the makers of the film citing that the film portrays Sikhs in poor light.

The reason behind the civil suit is that lawyer Navkiran Singh felt that certain comments like "If Sikhs were not there, then who would have invented abuses" and also "in case Sardar would not have been there, then on whom would the jokes be made", hurt the sentiments of the community at large.Singh has since given Devgn time of seven days, to respond to the suit and make the necessary changes in the dialogues, post which his office would take legal action, on the criminal as well as civil side, against Devgn and all other persons

Sanjay Dutt always wanted to be like his father. Now when he actually adopted one of Sunil Dutt Saab's roles, Sanju broke down and wept at the likeness.Sanjay Dutt's plans of remaking his father's immortal dacoit drama Mujhe Jeene Do have now been incorporated into the new Ajay Devgn starrer Son Of Sardaar (SOS). It's reliably learnt that Sanjay Dutt's character in SOS is modeled on his father's in Mujhe Jeene Do<,i>, down to the clothes, hair and make-up.

Says a source, "It wasn't the original plan to cast Sanju as a replica of his dad from Mujhe Jeene Do. When Sanju signed on for SOS, he didn't even know what his role was. He just did it blindly for his friend Ajay Devgn who's producing the film. No particular look or get-up was planned for Sanju initially. But then Agneepath came. In the film the special look went a long way in making Sanju's character a success. That's when Ajay suggested a special get-up for his pal Sanju to director Ashwin Dheer."While the various looks were being discussed Sanju suggested his Dad's Mujhe Jeene Do look which had fascinated him from the time he was a child.
ZOOM    ZOOM
Director Ashwin Dheer concedes that the Mujhe Jeene Do look went a long way in giving character and personality to Sanjay Dutt in SOS. "Mr. Dutt plays Sonakshi Sinha's over-possessive brother. Yes, his look and character bear a definite resemblance to Sunil Dutt Saab in Mujhe Jeene Do. In fact we put Mr. Sanjay Dutt on a horse after a very long time. It's uncanny how much he resembles his father in SOS. When I pointed it out to Mr. Sanjay Dutt, he got very emotional."
ZOOM     ZOOM
This is not the first time that Dutt had donned his Dad's Bandit King avatar. Way back in the 1980s, Sanjay Dutt did Jeene Do which was a straight homage to his Dad's Mujhe Jeene Do.Dutt later felt that at time he was too young to carry it off.

Says Dheer appreciatively, "Now is the time when Mr Sanjay Dutt is discovering the wonder that was his father and is able to convey his deep admiration in his performance."Salman Khan has agreed to do an item number in good friend Ajay Devgn's forthcoming film Son Of Sardar and that too for free. For a peppy track in the film, Ajay and his team zeroed down on Salman as they felt he was the most suitable man for the song.

ZOOM     ZOOM
As Ajay offered Salman to do the song, he immediately agreed to do the song and that too free of cost. The song will be shot in a studio Mumbai, where a special set will be built for the song. Salman and Ajay's friendship goes back a long way, they have acted together in films like Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam andLondon Dreams. Last year Ajay had even done a cameo in Salman's film Ready

Son Of Sardar is Ajay's home production being directed by Ashwini Dheer. It also stars Sanjay Dutt, Juhi Chawla and Sonakshi Sinha. There is no doubt about the fact that Ajay Devgn is being regarded as one of the leading action stars in Bollywood today. How can we forget his debut film Phool Aur Kaante, in which he appeared on screen standing on two moving bikes? He repeated the same stunt in Golmaal Returns and Golmaal 3 on cars.

And now, for his underproduction film Son Of Sardar, Ajay has done it again. This time however, Ajay will be seen riding two horses. With the stunt already making news, we wonder how Ajay pulls off such dare devil stunts... only to be reminded that he is after all the son of noted fight master Veeru Devgan.

Son Of Sardar, which is being directed by Ashwini Dhir, stars Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha, Juhi Chawla and Arjan Bajwa apart from Ajay, and is scheduled for release in November this year.
