In its first few minutes, Darmiyan sounds like a Salim-Suleiman leftover from one of their Aditya Chopra-Karan Johar soundtracks. But thissufiyana romantic number, gradually comes into its own. There is an interesting fusion at play between Shafaqat Amanat Ali and Clinton Cerejo that gives this conventional melody a little more edge than the routine. Shreya Ghosal gets to do a female version, that’s low on beats and slower in tempo. But Shreya is a pro at such reprises, and as expected, owns the song for whatever time she is behind the mike.
Kunwara is a foot tapping dance track that blends the sounds of shenaiwith electronic beats. Though predictable in style, Salim Merchant brings in a certain amount of freshness to it, with his unique voice. Having a ball mouthing the lyrics written for Madhavan's Casanova character, Salim has a lot of fun with the track, and makes sure the listeners groove along with as well.
