Actor Prateik is unperturbed by the controversy surrounding the song Hosanna from his ready-to-release movie Ek Deewana Tha and says one should not pay much attention to such things.
"Sometimes it is beneficial to you and sometimes it is not. So, you should not pay too much attention to controversies. You should just focus on working hard on your film and your character. Leave the rest to god," he said at an event.
The Catholic-Christian Secular Forum wanted the word Hosanna to be removed from the song as it hurts religious sentiments of certain communities.
Prateik's starrer Dhobi Ghaat too faced similar issues regarding the use of the word 'Dhobi', while Aarakshan got into problems over casting royalty Saif Ali Khan in the role of a dalit.
Prateik is not scared of such things and said: "I am just worried about the result of my films. Besides this, I am not scared of anything else."
Ek Deewana Tha is set for Feb 17 release and the 25-year-old's chemistry with his co-star and British model Amy Jackson is creating ripples in the film industry.
Directed by Gautham Menon, the film tells the story of a struggling filmmaker.
Prateik seems to be one of the luckier actors in Bollywood. After romancing British model-turned-actor Amy Jackson in Ek Deewana Tha, he will now be seen romancing another international beauty — German model-turned-actor Evelyn Sharma.
Evelyn, who has already has signed three films in Bollywood, will make her debut with Issaq opposite Prateik. “She has just signed three movies in a row.
Starting with Manish Tiwary’s Issaq, Evelyn will be seen with veteran filmmaker Pramod Chakravorty’s grandson Prateek Chakravorty in his debut film From Sydney With Love, followed by a pivotal role in Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani, the Ranbir Kapoor-Deepika Padukone starrer,” says a source.
Evelyn has already completed over a 100 assignments in India in the last few months. “In spite of her half-foreign origins, she dubs in Hindi. She also stars opposite singer Palash Sen in the forthcoming video of his rock band Euphoria,” adds the source.
Prateik Babbar and Amy Jackson, who have never spoken about their relationship in public, recently got their arms tattooed with each other’s name.
It is apparently an open declaration about their love.
According to sources, the 21-year-old actress got the ink job done in England and her tattoo reads Mera Pyaar Mera Prateik.
The team of upcoming film Ek Deewana Tha has cleared the air over the song Hosanna, which is a part of the flick. British model and actor Amy Jackson, who stars in the movie said that being a Christian, she has been chanting hymns since the age of five and never felt that the song would hurt people’s sentiments. “When I heard this song for the first time, it touched my heart. It’s a beautiful song,” says the 21-year-old.
The chief executive officer at Fox Star, Vijay Singh, also tried to clear the controversy surrounding the track. “The position is very clear on this. We have a censor clearance for the song in the film,” he says.
“The final authority of the law of the land is the Censor Board, so we will never do anything which is wrong or which goes against the law in this country. We are looking for support from the media and the people,” he adds.
The song, composed by AR Rahman, got embroiled in a controversy when a Catholic community called Catholic- Christian Secular Forum (CSF), wanted the removal of the word Hosanna from the song, claiming that it would upset the religious sentiments of Christians and Jews.
