BITTOO BOSS - STILLS

Ekta Kapoor is a name you don’t mess around with in the TV world. But Pulkit Samrat who was launched by her as Lakshya in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi (KSBKBT) in 2007, stormed out of the show mid-way through over non-payment of dues and was thereafter reportedly blacklisted by Balaji TeleFilms. The actor who then disappeared for four years, now returns as the lead in upcoming film, Bittoo Boss.

“I cannot explain how good it feels to finally star in a film,” says Pulkit , pointing out that this is what he has always wanted since his career flagged off seven years ago. “I accepted KSBKBT because Lakshya was a substantial role unlike the male leads in most serials who have little to do,” he reasons. “Ekta and I parted ways over a professional problem, but I have nothing personal against her. The problem wasn’t Ekta, but the people around her. She’s a sweetheart and there is no bitterness.”

Considering that Ekta has since moved to films and is a successful producer today, doesn’t he regret his decision? “Whatever is destined to happen will happen,” he shrugs, philosophising.

“I completed my education, did a course in website designing, polished my skills and waited for a good opportunity to come along. I had offers from TV but nothing exciting. Bittoo Boss was the first good project to come along and I grabbed it. Ekta will be the first person I’d want to show my film to.”
